Description
Habanos S.A has announced the arrival of the Flor de Cano Elegidos, a new short-filler Robusto (50 X 127mm) and a welcome addition to the relatively underserved, economic heavy gauge cigar market. A surprising move, Flor de Cano is undoubtedly a brand that falls under the radar for many, despite being a pre-revolution cigar dating back to 1884. Flor de Cano has always had a modest output, known as purveyors of thin, and short run time cigars. The cedar wrapped Petit Corona (40 X 123mm) and the Selectos (41 X 150mm) were classic go-to options at La Casa del Habano for those seeking a competitively priced, light-bodied smoke.
These two understated cigars quietly earned the brand the reputation of being a high value, reliable and economic smoke that highlight an herbaceous and sweet flavour profile. Since 2013, Flor de Cano has been slowly taken out of obscurity, with a series of cult regional releases such as the Canadian “Siboney” (42 X 110mm), the success of which called for higher production quantities of the preceding special releases.
According with the growing interest in Flor de Cano, as with their premium special release and their economic short-filler regular production line, the Elegidos Robusto will be a welcome addition for a new, much sparser Cuban cigar landscape in Canada.
Filling in the place of the discontinued Selectos, the Eligidos Robusto is billed as a medium bodied cigar boasting balance and aroma.
