Description
The H.Upmann Connossieur No.2 is a 2020 release, a medium-full bodied 5.25” (134 mm) by 51. It is the only Habanos cigar which has a ring gauge of 51. The factory name is known as Bohemios in Cuba and it was first presented in Germany in late 2020. Released only in few central European countries, this cigar will definitely please all amateurs of the other Connossieur from the marca H.Upmann. Similar in tastes and body as the other Connossieurs, its size makes it sit between the Connoisseur No.1 and the Connossieur A. Plenty of typical H.Upmanns flavors: wood, earth, sweet spices and some notes of chocolate.
• As one would expect from H.Upmann, the construction is amazing and burn is spot-on
• Medium to full in flavors and body, its main flavors are wood, earth and spices

Dimensions:
Length: 134 mm (5.25 inches)
Ring Gauge: 51
Shape: Robusto
Appearance:
The H.Upmann Connossieur No.2 looks very pretty, very well done. It is the only cigar out of Cuba with a 51 ring gauge, so it is slightly bigger than a robusto. It has a nice medium-brown Colorado Claro wrapper with a fair amount of oil on it. The triple cap is beautiful as well and the cigar is well packed all the way with a nice give when squeezed and there are no apparent soft spots.
Smoking Notes:
Before lighting up
The flavors on the cold draw are woody with a bit of sweet vanilla.
Burn/ Draw
Once the cap is cut, it reveals a really good draw. Lighting up the cigar is easy and the cigar starts off very mildly.
Initial third:
The first flavors that we pick up from the H.Upmann Connossieur No.2 are some wood, with some sweet tobacco. The power and the flavor is mild so far. It slowly ramps up into a very enjoyable experience with flavors of wood, earth, sweet spices (gingerbread), cream and milk chocolate. There are no traces of leather which is a typical flavor found in most H.Upmann smokes. The overall feeling is fairly sweet and light on the palate, which makes it a great cigar for beginners. It is not too overly complex or overwhelming either, and is reminiscent of its cousin the Connoisseur No.1 and even of the H.Upmann Magnum 46 or the Magnum 50. Construction-wise, the draw is on point, the burn is good, although a bit wavy at times, but one touch-up resolves this issue for good. It is very impressive so far for such a young cigar.
Middle third:
In the second third, the strength builds up, so it is much more like a medium-bodied cigar at this point, which is what one would expect from a H.Upmann cigar. The wood has also increased in strength, very cedary now. The gingerbread has receded to the background, leaving much more room for some herbal tones. And there is still the milk chocolate note as well as the addition of some black coffee. The cigar is still burning very well, with a perfect draw so far.
Final third:
In the final third, the H.Upmann Connossieur No.2 has become even a bit more powerful, it is very much a medium plus cigar at this stage, right on point when it comes to a H.Upmann cigar. In terms of flavors, there are plenty of earthy flavors, almost like moist soil. The spices have come back in full power towards the end of the cigar, but not as sweet as they were at the beginning. In terms of construction, it is simply perfect, perfect draw all the way and impeccable burn, except for one-touch up early on.
In short, the H.Upmann Connossieur No.2 is a great H.Upmann cigar, ideal for beginners and great pick for aficionados of the other Connoisseurs in the line-up (No.1, A or B).
